Then redownload the VZW cloud app and allow it to restore the sms messages. Then just permanently remove the VZW cloud app when done. Of course, before ever re-enabling VZW messages app make sure you clear all the app/cache data on the phone for VZW messages and then login to the portal website for the VZW messages and wipe everything from it.

VZW messages+ with ATT LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edtiion Thread starter Thread starter json405 Start date Start date Apr 12, 2016 You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. #1 Thanks to @jaycemiskel for bringing up this question. I posted something similar in another forum but I thought I would also post this here also for people wondering how to get VZW message+ to work with an ATT LG urbane 2nd edition. So it sorta works like how I think Numbersync should work on ATT. I've never used Numbersync so I can't verify.Basically this enables you to receive/answer phone calls from a VZW smartphone number to your ATT LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition. What you need:1.A VZW Smartphone that has Advanced Voice capabilities like the S6, Note 5 etc. You also will need to activate HD Voice if available for your plan and smartphone. Please see your device instructions to show you how to do that. 2.ATT LG urbane 2nd edition with some kind of data plan that works with GSM wearables or you can use wifi. I have a tmobile plan. FYI- ATT corporate sims might give you problems. 3.Message+ app. It should be preinstalled in your VZW branded smartphone. If you disabled it, just like me then re-enabled it. Note: It appears that message + is only needed for the intial set up to activate the calling feature on the LG 2nd edition with a VZW account. You do not have to use it as your default messaging app after the initial set up. You can disable it if you like but I suggest using Google Messenger since it's a fully supported Android Wear messaging app and it's already on your LG 2nd edition. Directions1.On your VZW smartphone, subscribe to Integrated Messaging Features by going into the messages+ app and settings. If its the first time you used this app, it may prompt you. Integrated Messaging should be included in your smartphone plan but please check just in case.2.After that, go to your LG watch Urbane 2nd edition and go to the app drawer. 3.Check to see if Messages+ and "Calling Setup" is visible in your LG Watch app drawer. If not, you might need to go to the Android Wear app and resync your apps.4.Press Calling Setup app. It should ask you a few things like it will check to see if your Smartphone is capable of Advanced calling . It might take a bit. Reboots of the LG watch might be necessary to speed things up. 5.Once it detects and confirms that Calling features are active, then it will ask to see if the E911 address is working. If it gives the address where you are, then it's working. 6.Hit next or Ok. (I forget)7.Then you should be able to make phone calls from your smartphone number even if you are away and not connected to your VZW smartphone. Note: Call. Then redownload the VZW cloud app and allow it to restore the sms messages. Then just permanently remove the VZW cloud app when done. VZW recommends using the web page messaging access from a Windows 10 machine. Messages from other sources seem to be OK. I just sent myself a text from my Droid Turbo 2 phone and it immediately showed up in my Message app on my PC. Therefore, please check the minimum requirements first to make sure Vzw Messages is compatible with your phone. We're having the same issue. I've talked to two people at VZW, but they swear it's an apple problem. The issue started happening when we got family base, and it's the VPN that's causing the problem. VZW had me upgrade the software to one of the phones, didn't resolve the problem. They searched online and "couldn't find anyone else having this issue." I'm removing family base today because my high schooler keeps texting me with pictures of error messages he's receiving. He's so frustrated at school every day not being able to get to the sites his teachers require. Examples, block.familybase.vzw.com Not Trusted, Cannot verify server identity for outlook.com, cannot browse school classroom site (even though it's been approved by me), etc. I have been charged so much overage the last few months, it's gotten ridiculous. Last month was like 5 gb over (so ~$75, on top of an already too high of a bill). Not for a lack of trying to use wifi, either. I'm very close to cancelling my VZW service when I cancel family base. I've been a long time customer, so I've held out canceling, but it may be time. I signed up for a certain service at a certain monthly rate, and going over every month due to a VZW problem isn't my idea of them keeping to their end of the service. Apart from angry kids getting mad at me every day for "doing something stupid to their phones so they don't work anymore." It's good to see that I'm not the only one having this problem, as VZW told me I was (although I wish I was the only one - sorry fellow frustrated parents).

Forwarding if available on your phone is less of a battery hog so that might be a better option for you. Hope that helps. If you have issues, please see the thread below to maybe get some answers. Per the Verizon site. Here is what you need to use the calling feature of the Messages+ app.Who's eligible to use the Calling feature in the Verizon Messages app?To be eligible for Calling in Verizon Messages, you need to:Be on a standard monthly plan*Have an HD Voice-capable phoneHave the HD Voice feature on your account and activatedTo learn more about HD Voice visit our HD Voice page.Note: If you have any features that are incompatible with HD Voice, you'll need to remove them when you add the HD Voice feature to your account. Learn more about which features you need to remove.* Prepaid accounts aren't eligible for HD Voice at this time Last edited: Apr 29, 2016 #2 Thanks! I think I'm gonna take my Verizon watch back and go with the AT&T version. #3 Just to add, your smartphone doesn't need to be on to call or send text from your VZW number. Which is great if your smartphone dies.A quirk and limitation I found when I have this feature turned on is that your smartphone will show a missed call when you answer the call from the watch. You'll get that notification on the watch so that's a little annoying. Also, the messaging app on the smartwatch doesn't seem to delete messages directly from the watch. I thought it did but I guess I was dreaming. #4 This is perfect because with my Verizon watch, if my phone is off, it won't ever send the text message, which is weird. #5 This is perfect because with my Verizon watch, if my phone is off, it won't ever send the text message, which is weird. That probably means your integrating messaging subscription isn't turned on on the messaging app and your smartwatch isn't configured to work yet. If you don't enable it correctly, even the ATT watch will not let you receive text or send text with your VZW number. Also, make sure your phone is capable of Advance calling or HD voice feature. I know not all 4g devices are capable of doing this and it might throw a wrench in your plans. I've updated the directions above to include that with what you need. Last edited: Apr 12, 2016 #6 I saw your other post on the other thread and I wanted to clarify something. You said something about wanting another number just in case your smartphone dies. You do not necessarily need another number to use the messages+ app because it uses your current VZW number from your smartphone. Ideally, if you want one number to create a number sync type deal, you just need a plan that's data only. However, I'm not sure if any carriers will allow wearable devices on a data only plan since those are mainly

This!! An Accepted Solution is available for this post. Disable the text message application you don't use. Set the application you do use as the default message application. You also didn't mention which phone model you have. It might help to provide that information when asking for assistance on the community. I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer. An Accepted Solution is available for this post. This thread should show the model. In order to start this thread i had to choose HTC One M8 model, etc. Not sure why it doesnt do that. Should show choices that initiated the thread. Anyway, there is no way to disable the HTC Messaging app. If there were, i wouldve done it.. or if i knew. My only option is force close which i did and that did nothing. So that is not a solution for me. You didn't say how to disable the HTC app. Please supply that information with all the steps. The disable button is grayed out. Messages Plus has the disable button activated , but HTC messages app has it grayed out. Figures! Also, i already have Messages Plus as my default. That is the one i use. In order to use it, u have to set it as default I think because the phone asked u which one you want to use. An Accepted Solution is available for this post. Also, how come this was never an issue before? i never disabled the HTC messaging app before. Why is it suddenly an issue? This is not a cell tower issue? An Accepted Solution is available for this post. Your discussion thread is in the Android space. There is absolutely no mention of a HTC One M8 anywhere in the thread until you mentioned it now. I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer. An Accepted Solution is available for this post. Ok, i dont know. i selected the phone to create the thread so not sure why that doesnt pull through.ANyway, how come you didnt answer anything else in what i just wrote..you ignored the things i updated on you - why? Any other suggestions? Something that could help me eliminate the duplicates? There is no way to disable the HTC messages app. Does anyone have any suggestions??? An Accepted Solution is available for this post. I didn't answer your questions because I didn't have any suggestions. I'm not an employee to have access to see if there was a tower issue. I can't see your phone to get any visual clues about the problem. I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer. An Accepted Solution is available for this post. Ok, you didnt say anything on those questions so i was wondering why..now i know. This is still an issue and i guess my only solution

@Amhaas65 wrote:So WHY is Verizon changing to RCS if....RCS phones may have advanced messaging features, but this increased functionality also makes them easier to trace and control. The reliance on carrier support, centralized architecture, and potential lack of end-to-end encryption increase the likelihood of messages being monitored and intercepted. Carrier-controlled features, standardization, and governance can lead to a more controlled environment for RCS messaging. Are we, as customers, suppose to believe it's because Verizon wants to provide "Better Customer Service?"So tell me again WHY Verizon is switching to this? The RCS framework was primarily built by Google and the carriers have been opting to implement it instead of building their own framework. As I understand it and I'm by no means an expert, going this route helped to standardize the RCS system instead of multiple different versions of RCS messaging protocol. Thus making it work across carriers and devices sooner than later. Google Messages features end to end encryption between other devices using Google Messages. Eventually that encryption will extend to messages to Apple phones, but the weak link for that particular issue is firmly in Apple's court. I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee.
