China Affinity, and an agathis SE.Wood has nothing to do with the way an electric guitar sounds, especially a strat, so if you get a good deal on it, buy it. #7 Seems like we answered this exact same question just a couple days ago. Most likely guess would be alder, agathis or basswood. Squier is well known for its inconsistency. #9 I had a 99 Bullet that was Agathis. #10 Full thickness bodies are 1.75" thick. Many Squiers are 1.5". A Fender bridge with a large sustain block would stick out of the back of a 1.5" thick guitar. Actually, very few Squier Strats are 1.5 inch. Artist Models, SE's, Classic Vibes, Vintage Modifieds, newer Affinity's, Standards, Deluxes and Contemporarys are all full thickness. And I don't know why people call them a sustain block when it plays no roll in sustain at all, but yes, a lot of people want a full thickness body so they can put a needlessly heavy trem block on their needlessly heavy and thick Strat body. Using brass block saddles with a zinc block performs better than bent steel with copper infused, but people get that backwards due to assuming the more expensive option must be better. You don't always get what you pay for.As far as the actual question the OP asked: Without knowing which specific model and year we are unable to help you as they used a lot of different woods. The good new is that the type of wood is absolutely irrelevant as to the sound of the guitar. Indeed, if you like heavier guitars, you can have the body made out of cement and it will sound precisely the same through an amp as any Fender Custom shop Strat if using the same pickups. #11 What model of Stratocaster? The '00 Squier Standard Strat I had was agathis as were the SE from that time period.Affinities from China were plywood, I owned a few. The Affinities from Indonesia were Alder, i had some of those too. Bullets a little later were basswood i think. Still got one of those, and one plywood China Affinity, and an agathis SE.Wood has nothing to do with the way an electric guitar sounds, especially a strat, so if you get a good deal on it, buy it. All the Chinese Affinities I had with CGS (Grand Reward factory) serial number prefixes were alder.. classical start menu) then personalize : there you should be able to put program shortcuts either in teh normal part of strat menu ( where it is called all programs ) or in the favorites part of the strat menu. Down to a quieter part. It’s an important part of the way I write.”Black Sabbath - War Pigs (California Jam 1974) (4K 60fps) - YouTubeWatch On From what you’ve told us in the past, that first album was made with your backup SG into a Laney LA100BL and a Dallas Arbiter Rangemaster boost. But Wicked World was recorded with your Strat, which had a pickup failure during the sessions. When the Strat pickup went, I had to pick up the SG. From that day on, I never looked back“That’s correct. When the Strat went, I couldn’t bloody well believe it. I’d worked on that guitar myself for a long time, getting the fretboard right, the frets down and the feel just how I like it. I needed to do all of that because of my accident. So we went in to make our first album and the guitar pickup went right at the beginning of the process.”“In those days, it was a big fiasco getting a pickup changed or fixed. It wasn’t like how it is now, where you can go into any guitar shop and someone will be able to swap it. Not only that; we only had two days to make the album, one of which was for recording. I had to use my SG, which was the backup I kept on the side.“I hadn’t owned it long, so I’d never really used it. When the Strat pickup went, I had to pick up the SG. From that day on, I never looked back. I stuck with the SGs. But at the time, I’d only used my Strat in combination with my booster and the Laney. That’s what I’d been using to create my sound, so it was quite scary having to improvise with something else.”As you say, you

To use strat pickups. I really like the body shape of a Mustang #4 Joined Jun 6, 2019 Posts 113 Age 53 Location Philly Well, the 24" scale length of a Mustang is a big part of its sound and feel. You can use regular Strat pickups in a 'stang and it'll still sound like a 'stang. Using the trem & floating bridge as well as keeping the pickups in the same relative position will get you closer, but not quite there. It won't sound bad by any means, though. Just different. The bridge, too. I say this having just built a strat with mustang pickups and a 24" scale conversion neck initially. That turned out to be awkward to play, so I switched to a full scale Strat neck and yeah there was a difference, but not as much as all that. I think it's a combo of exact pickup positions, scale length, and bridge assembly. Anyone compared a duo sonic II (the hardtail mustang) to a Mustang? Curious about this now. #5 I really miss the Mustang I used to have and I have a really great roasted maple neck sitting around. Thing is, it’s a standard tele neck. Light bulb! Build a Mustang body and place the bridge in the right place for a 25.5” neck. Anyone ever heard of this or try it?[/QUOTE i think you may have a problem with that #6 middy Poster Extraordinaire Joined Apr 28, 2010 Posts 6,165 Age 54 Location MSP. classical start menu) then personalize : there you should be able to put program shortcuts either in teh normal part of strat menu ( where it is called all programs ) or in the favorites part of the strat menu.
