An elusive stray cat who had been roaming the streets for quite some time, finally accepted help when someone offered her a dumpling.Coastal Bend Cat RescueA few weeks ago, a stray cat was spotted wandering a local shopping center. Several TNR (trap-neuter-return) rescuers responded and set out humane traps in the area but only to find that the savvy and elusive feline evaded them all. She was later seen crossing the highway to go back and forth between several restaurants looking for scraps of food. A Good Samaritan who had seen her picture on social media, eventually found her and was able to coax her into a cat carrier with a dumpling. The tabby was too hungry to resist the food and finally accepted help. Coastal Bend Cat Rescue, a local rescue in Corpus Christi, Texas, took her into their care, but little did they know she didn't come alone.Coastal Bend Cat Rescue"Within 48 hours, Dumpling (as she was soon named) decided to surprise us by popping out some baby dumplings. She was such a young and petite cat herself, weighing only six pounds," Lindsay Haglund, Foster Coordinator of Coastal Bend Cat Rescue, told Love Meow."It was very clear that it was her first pregnancy as a very young mother. She went into labor and had five little babies (four eventually survived) on top of a comfy queen sized bed in her foster home."The cat mom was so exhausted that she needed help with the delivery and to clean the babies.Coastal Bend Cat Rescue"Dumpling's foster family saved the lives of her kittens, and probably even Mama Dumpling herself that day," Lindsay said.A few weeks later, they were faced with yet another challenge when Mama Dumpling started having trouble nursing her kittens. Stray's feline protagonist and eye-popping graphics made it one of the most-talked about games coming out of Sony's Future of Gaming event, and as it turns out, the hype was warranted. First and foremost, the developers at BlueTwelve Studio have absolutely nailed what it would be like to move around a city as a cat. The animations are perfect, down to the smallest details. Real-life cat owners especially will come away impressed with what BlueTwelve Studio has accomplished here, as they may be more likely to notice subtle things like the cat's ears twitching in the direction of a noise. Early in the game, the cat is outfitted with a harness to help transport its drone companion, and it hilariously flops to the ground, refusing to move for a moment. Any cat owners that have tried to put similar harnesses on their pets to take them on walks will recognize this behavior, and it's the little details like this that make the cat from Stray feel like a living, breathing cat. It helps that the animators went as far as to make the cat literally breathe, of course. There is a cliché about video games making players "feel" like they are whatever character they're playing as, but there's really no other way to say it. Stray makes the player feel like a cat, whether it's knocking objects off ledges, walking over keyboards, or scratching furniture. Stray lets players carry out typical cat behaviors even when there's no gameplay reason for it, like drinking water from a saucer, rubbing up against someone's legs, and curling up for a nap. Such an impressive level of polish is likely due to the restrictions placed on the game's platforming. Stray doesn't let players jump wherever and whenever they want, but instead relegates jumping to a contextual button press. This could be another point of contention with some players, as they may find Stray's platforming too restrictive. But the trade-off is the developers are able to keep the animations tight and better maintain the illusion of playing as a cat, whereas jumping everywhere could easily break that sense of immersion and lead to animation problems. Not only that, but this also gives platforming a puzzle-solving element, as players have to figure out exactly where they can jump to get through each area. It's true that some may be underwhelmed by how Stray handles its platforming and by how short it is, but these issues are easily overlooked because of the high quality found throughout the rest of the game. Stray is a genuinely unique gaming experience and is worth checking out for the cat alone. Stray looks great, plays great, and accomplishes exactly what it set out to do. It's a must-play, especially since it's available at a budget price and can be played in its entirety with a PS Plus Extra subscription. Stray launches July 19 for PC, PS4, and PS5. Game Rant was provided with a PS5 code for this review. Sometimes these cat actions are incorporated in Stray's puzzle solving gameplay. While players are free to scratch furniture, walls, tree trunks, and other objects like cats do, this ability sometimes has a practical purpose, like pulling down a curtain or ripping wires out of a device. Meowing, meanwhile, can be used to get rid of the bug-like enemies that will sometimes cling to the cat. Stray's bug-like enemies are known as the Zurks, and while players are eventually able to fight back, they are mostly meant to avoid these creatures at all costs. There's not much in the way of "combat" like in other games, but Stray is better for it. The cat in Stray is meant to represent a real cat, so the developers didn't give it outlandish abilities or special attacks that would break the immersion. Yes, players are solving puzzles and talking to robots in the game, but that's because the cat is being helped along by its drone companion, B-12. Stray players meet B-12 early in the game, and from there, the drone helps guide the story along. With B-12 at their side, players can talk to friendly robots, hack doors, get hints about what to do next if they're stuck, and more. But while B-12 plays a key role in helping players overcome some of Stray's obstacles, the focus stays squarely on the cat and how it is able to interact with the world around it. The Stray experience is broken up into linear levels and more open areas. The linear sections offer more action, with players having to use a mix of speed and stealth to outrun and hide from the Zurks and other enemies. However, the open-ended areas, of which are there are two in the game, are

Stray Sign in to your Game Rant account Although undeniably charming, BlueTwelve Studio’s Stray isn’t especially lengthy or content-rich. Most players will be able to finish the game in four to five hours, and completionists should be able to hundred-percent the title in eight to ten. Still, while few players will struggle with the base experience, some of Stray’s achievements—the rare Can’t Cat-ch Me, and I Am Speed, in particular—can be a major pain. Sneakitty could also be counted among the title's less-accessible accolades due in part to its vague description. Fortunately, though the sudden emphasis on stealth during the game’s second half may have rubbed some players the wrong way, sneaking past the Sentinel drones of midtown isn’t all that challenging once players learn their patterns. In fact, relative to the daring, Zurk-infested gauntlets encountered in Stray’s earlier sections, a surreptitious jaunt through the Neco Corp Factory should feel like a walk in the park. How To Get The Sneakitty Trophy In order to get Stray’s Sneakitty trophy, players must make it through the entirety of the Neco Corp Factory and back into and out of Clementine’s apartment without being spotted once by a Sentinel drone. As daunting as this sounds, all the drones in this location are either totally stationary or move in very predictable patterns. It’s worth noting, however, that while the Sentinel drones have various alert states—blue indicating total passivity, yellow indicating that they’ve seen the player and are actively searching, and red indicating that they’re ready to open fire—the player cannot alert them whatsoever. If a drone is triggered, it’s not the end of the world; players are allowed to restart from the previous checkpoint should they be spotted. However, some Stray fans are reporting issues with this trophy. If it doesn’t unlock after leaving Clementine’s apartment for the second time, there’s a chance it will pop after restarting from the most recent checkpoint and sneaking out of the apartment complex once more. If all else fails, it’s possible to replay the chapter via the main menu. Here are some tips that might help players earn this trophy: The Sentinel drones are not very intelligent; their movements are always predictable, and they cannot see beyond their blue-tinted vision cones. While it’s very rarely necessary, players can jump in boxes to avoid detection. Meowing will alert the drones. There’s no reason to do it, so it’s best to suppress the instinct during this section of the game. The drones will not follow players into the room with the atomic battery, nor will they enter Clementine’s apartment. If the achievement does not unlock shortly after crossing the police line barricading the Midtown apartment complex, players should immediately restart from the previous checkpoint. Since the announcement of the game in 2020, Stray has been one of the highest anticipated games to date. Following some delays, the game has finally been released in July of 2022. It is suitable for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows. Since the story follows a stray cat that wanders through a city populated by robots, machines, and viruses, many fans have been wondering; is Stray actually a horror game? How scary and gorry is Stray?Stray is not a horror game. By genre, it is an adventure game, not a horror game – though it is spiced up with a few creepy moments. The game itself is rated PG12, which means it can include violence in a fantasy environment or non-realistic violence towards human-like characters. It contains a few slight hints of horror with elements like strange creatures that could be considered Lovecraftian horror references. There are also a few scenarios in which the cat could be injured and die throughout the game, but even that couldn’t be described as really gorry or gruesome; when fatally injured, the screen goes red, before quickly reloading from the last autosave. Overall, it is a game with minimal fantasy violence and little to no explicit gore scenes, which means anyone above 10 years of age can enjoy it.I’ve you’ve been wondering what the hype’s all about – you’ve come to the right place. Let’s dive right into the details about what makes Stray so brilliant, scary, and incredibly sad. Beware, though; you
