There is an earlier thread about alternatives to sandboxie. The better solution would be to figure out what is giving you a problem and remedy it. What program is causing the issue? You can also try Comodo or the sandbox in Avast Pro. More info is needed such as the program & version of Sandboxie your using would help. Also check out Sandboxie known conflicts page. Presuming that the conflict cannot be resolved (it often can be), you could alternatively take the stance that you'd be seeking an alternative program that is causing the problem.Seriously, I put the protection of Sandboxie ahead of some latest-and-greatest application, as an example: Office 365 with App-V support is currently not compatible with Sandboxie. Solution? Run Office 2010. I am simply not prepared to run a full Office suite with email reader unprotected.Of course, there may be corporate constraints and all that, in which case you need to seek alternatives, which may in fact not be directly equivalent to Sandboxie functionality (there are none I'm aware of, not Freespace, not Bromium, not MBAE, not virtual machines, not application-specific sandboxes etc).

That's a switch for thinderbird. Add it to "c:\program files\testdir/thunderbird.exe" --disable-gpu-sandbox, as an example. Did you manage to get Brave working? I am having the same "Aw Snap" message after updating Brave. Thanks for the update. And BTW, if you have the time perhaps you can look into a certain problem, turns out that anti-loggers can't protect sandboxed browsers. SpyShelter, KeyScrambler and GhostPress all have problems, seems like they can't ''see'' sandboxed applications and thus can't protect. So perhaps they need ''interprocess communications access'' to sandboxed processes. henryg1 Registered Member Joined: Jun 14, 2020 Posts: 451 Location: uk Sadly, doesn't work for me. Looks like SBIE is having increasing compatibility problems - add to Office 365 which won't run under SBIE I don't know about the other softs you mention, but I am having no problems with Keyscrambler in any of my Chromium browsers or with Firefox. Using Sandboxie Classic 5.49.7, Keyscrambler Personal 3.15.0.0 and all latest stable versions of browsers. Version 90.x of Brave and Vivaldi are borked on all my machines with Sandboxie atm, and also Chrome on my machine with 11th gen processors (likely due to this). Nothing to do with Keyscrambler though. If the browser works with Sandboxie, then for me Keyscrambler does too, in other words. I think there is an option in Sandboxie to allow Sandboxie to work with Keyscarmbler. If you go to tools >software compatibility in Sandboxie control, you should see Keyscrambler listed with a + by it. If it's not there you may have to add it (not sure how to do that though - someone else might know). Some processes

[2025] 20 Sandboxie alternatives and programs like Sandboxie

#1 I'm trying to set Sandboxie up as the alternative for Qubes OS. I have found Qubes OS very inconvenient for my use/work model. So, I'm trying to create a similar environment on Windows. The main goals are: (1) to give away as little information (about my hardware, OS, running processes, etc.) to other processes/apps, as possible — privacy; (2) limit the damage in case of sandboxed app or sandbox compromise — security.I know that Sandboxie has not been developed specifically for privacy geeks, and Windows is bad for such kind of setup in general, but, as I mentioned before, Windows is the OS I stick with. Here is my default sandbox setup process: My question is:What else, that won't require a big maintenance effort and/or have severe apps compatibility issues, can I do to harden my sandbox? As I understood, the only network thing, that I can manage in Sandboxie, is adding SOCKS5 proxy. Do the team have plans to implement VPN/Wireguard tonneling? #2 1) Different sandboxes for different apps. E.g. a browser sandbox and a downloader sandbox.2) Use SandboxieLogon=y, Sandbox Options > Security Options > [Advanced Security] > "Use a Sandboxie Login instead of an anonymous token" Originally all Sandboxes shared the same anonymous token, but with this option, it is just as restricted, and on top the sandboxes are isolated by a different SID.3) You could enable to start only allowed programs per box. Sandbox Options > Program Control > [Start Restrictions], for sandboxes where you start programs that are installed to the host.4) You can block network access for apps on the host, in the Network Options. You could use the firewall to allow only connections to certain IPs, which can work for connections to an email server or for putty, where you know where you want to

In the process of adding a sandbox, I hope the proponents of Twister (TAV) do not doom TAV to never being fully compatible with 64-bit.According to Tsuk (Sandboxie developer), Xiaolin (Malware Defender developer), & Ilya (Defense Wall developer), sandbox-type apps will not run well under Win 64-bit, unless they are emasculated to some degree. See the last few pages of THIS Wilders thread. I hope that too. By the next year i will probably be on 64bit W7, so i 'd like Twister working, even without sandbox.Anyway, some news from FTFans/ftfans.org:1. Maybe someone who is still running Twister and Sandboxie could make a test about it. I honestly think i never did such a test or if i did, i don't remember. Unfortunately i run Win 7 x64 now and Twister is not compatible. I am afraid that most Twistees have also migrated to other antiviruses or 64bit.Anyway, chances that Sandboxie is breached are very low. So i wouldn't worry much about it. jlo Registered Member Joined: Nov 29, 2004 Posts: 475 Location: UK Thanks. It was more for testing the proactive defense to be honest. Run some malware in sandboxie and see if twister detects.I may give it a run at some point.CheersJlo jlo Registered Member Joined: Nov 29, 2004 Posts: 475 Location: UK One thing I like on.
