HOT-TEMPERED. SCREAMING. BUT BEAUTIFUL.Not everything is like back in the day. Many guitarists have lost at least one big privilege: To get to crank up a Marshall stack full-on during live gigs.Red Fuzz 1 has that classic over-saturated, thick Fuzzy sound you’ve probably heard more that once from the good old 60’s and 70’s. But where the fat Fuzzy guitar sound from the 60′ and 70’s mostly comes from a cranked up amplifier with a Fuzz pedal in front, Red Fuzz 1 definitely doesn’t need any help!It simply takes a classic Fuzz and a stack and cram them together into one single piece of fat and beefy rock’n’roll hardware. So, bring your combo this time… No need for a stack! Unlike the classic designs, Red Fuzz 1 also has built-in Fuzz-friendly buffers to make it more ‘friendly’ to the other pedals in your signal chain.Bottom line: This hot-tempered redhead simply screams Hendrix-style Fuzz!Foot-On OverdriveThe knobs on Blue Drive 1 are not only placed diagonally because it looks killer, it is also because we know that sometimes a quick tweak is needed mid-song.With the Volume and Drive knobs accessible by the edges, you can tweak them on the fly with your foot. No more kneeling down, letting go of the strings, abandoning the groove and loosing the momentum. That looks smashing with boyfriend jeans. I'm on the hunt this fall for the perfect white and chambray shirts to wear as tunics or under cashmere sweaters. I have a lot of cardigans, v neck etc. I wear a denim jacket cropped, red long asymetrical leather, and one black leather jacket with a color. so I have a ton of scarves in all color and lately I've been beefing up my necklaces with colored beads to bring color back to my face given all the neutrals. (I was a dark on bottom person for 20 years, so this really has been a radical change). on the bottom I usually wear jeans, light tan pants, white ankle jeans (my current favorite), and now purple skinnies and a brand new pair of bright red bootcut cords (for fall, purchased on lands' end for $10!). I have new black tube skirt and am seeking some more feminine, frilly maxiskirts. I've got a pinterest board here. (I can't seem to make angie's bookmark work on most sites). cat's eye was the most popular choice and these seem big to me for my face (which is pretty wide). but the "real" cat's eye glasses aren't "tall" enough to accommodate progressive lenses (eek, my first pair, what do you mean I need bifocals!?!) Article by Paul Ingraham | Featured on Pain ScienceWe fear spine pain more than we fear other kinds of pain. Backs and necks seem vulnerable. And yet most spinal pain does not have a serious cause. The bark of neck pain is usually worse than its bite. This article explains how to tell the difference. Please do seek care immediately if you’ve been in an accident or you have very severe or weird pain or other symptoms — obviously. This article is for non-emergency situations. But if you have neck pain that’s been starting to worry you, this is a good place to get some reassurance and decide whether or not to talk to a doctor.Although it’s rare, once in a while neck pain may be a warning sign of cancer, infection, autoimmune disease, or some kind of structural problem like spinal cord injury or a threat to an important blood vessel. Some of these ominous situations cause hard-to-miss signs and symptoms other than pain and are likely to be diagnosed correctly and promptly — so, if it feels serious, go get checked out. Otherwise, if you are aware of the “red flags,” you can get checked out when the time is right — and avoid excessive worry until then. The rule of thumb is that you should start a more thorough medical investigation only when all three of these conditions are met, three general red flags for neck pain:it’s been bothering you for more than about 6 weeksit’s severe and/or not improving, or actually getting worsethere is at least one other “red flag” (see below)And there is one (hopefully obvious) situation where there’s no need to wait several weeks before deciding the situation is serious: if you’ve had an accident with forces that may have been sufficient to fracture your spine or tear nerves. I didn’t really have to tell you that, did I? Well, I did for legal reasons!Several more specific red flags for neck pain: a checklistCheck all that apply. Most people will not be able to check many of these! But the more you can check, the more worthwhile it is to ask your doctor if it’s possible that there’s something more serious going on than just neck pain. Most people who check off an item or two will turn out not to have an ominous health issue. But red flags are reasons to check… not reasons to worry.Light tapping on the spine is painful.Weight loss without dieting is a potential sign of cancer.Mystery fevers and/or chills (especially in diabetic patients).A fierce headache, and/or an inability to bend the head forward (nuchal rigidity), and/or fever, and/or altered mental state are all symptoms of meningitis (inflammation of the membranesSoundboard,Sound Effects Board,Sound Board,Sound Mixer Board
The world's first commercially successful solid-body electric guitar's design is simple, but effective. With a revolutionary "twangy" sound, it has been a trendsetter in tone and in guitar manufacturing) ever since of its introduction in the 1950s. It can be found in the hands of excellent musicians from all kinds of genres - it's an instrument for the ages. The Software ARCHLine.XP is a design software targeted for AEC projects, however, it does have a wide range of features targeted for designing 3D shapes. We did a few riffs on it, to see if we can replicate the guitar as a 3D model, and we used its integrated rendering engine to get some nice visuals. Let's get to it, and-one-and-two... Forming the body The guitar's body is one solid slab of wood with a few cutouts to fit the electronics. We used ARCHLine.XP's Cabinet Door feature. This function not only allows to create a customized shape, but it also allowed to have the desired holes and cutouts to be placed in one single object. fig 1 - alternative usage of the Cabinet Door tool The neck The neck was formed with the Loft tool. We need to add section profiles (in blue), through which a solid is formed along a path (in red). If the section profiles change along the route, so does the resulting solid. That's how we ended up a curved, gradually narrowing shape. fig 2 Varying section profiles will distort the 3D shape accordingly. The saddle This piece of metal houses the bridge pickup, responsible for the distinct Telecaster sound. This cover also holds the strings in place. We formed it using the 3D shape tool: this feature starts with a 3D solid, and allows us to modify its 3 projection profiles (shown in red and blue). By modifying these profiles, and adding holes, we ended up with the piece pictured below. fig 3 Covers, metal pieces with drillholes are easy to form using the 3D Shape tool It comes together By combining the above features, we soon ended up with a pretty library of magnets, pickups, selectors, potentiometers. It's worth grouping these to appropriate folders, so that you can always find what you are looking for. fig 4 Careful organization of your content means efficient design After finding the appropriate "Butterscotch Blonde" texture, and setting up the right materials, ARCHLine.XP's integrated render took care of the rest. Tone out of the unit. So I'm going for a somewhat-traditional sound, but with a bit more midrange sack. The Giovanni neck pickup is pretty good so far - some decent harmonics for such a cheap pup. Too bad they're hard to find ! Lives for gear Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 2,143 🎧 15 years I actually normally switch them around, unless there's a problem with pole spacing. It's common for manufacturers to wind the neck pickup a little lighter than the bridge pickup to try to equalize the volume between them. But in my world, a bridge pickup should be treblier than a neck pickup. So I switch them around. well, to report back after-the-fact, the neck pup in the bridge location works great - I was afraid it would sound too much like the neck pickup in the neck position, but it works as a benefit. I switched out the .047 cap in the neck tone pot for a .022 to get the neck pup slightly cleaner. When the toggle is in the middle position, I get a really nice, almost slightly out-of-phase tone (almost Brian May-ish) , I suppose it's due to using the same pickup in both locations. Quite satisfied with the Giovanni pickups, but the real lesson is that the stock pickups in the Douglas from Rondo Music are actually pretty damn decent!Amazon.com: Practice Guitar Neck With Sound
To use strat pickups. I really like the body shape of a Mustang #4 Joined Jun 6, 2019 Posts 113 Age 53 Location Philly Well, the 24" scale length of a Mustang is a big part of its sound and feel. You can use regular Strat pickups in a 'stang and it'll still sound like a 'stang. Using the trem & floating bridge as well as keeping the pickups in the same relative position will get you closer, but not quite there. It won't sound bad by any means, though. Just different. The bridge, too. I say this having just built a strat with mustang pickups and a 24" scale conversion neck initially. That turned out to be awkward to play, so I switched to a full scale Strat neck and yeah there was a difference, but not as much as all that. I think it's a combo of exact pickup positions, scale length, and bridge assembly. Anyone compared a duo sonic II (the hardtail mustang) to a Mustang? Curious about this now. #5 I really miss the Mustang I used to have and I have a really great roasted maple neck sitting around. Thing is, it’s a standard tele neck. Light bulb! Build a Mustang body and place the bridge in the right place for a 25.5” neck. Anyone ever heard of this or try it?[/QUOTE i think you may have a problem with that #6 middy Poster Extraordinaire Joined Apr 28, 2010 Posts 6,165 Age 54 Location MSP. Would be appreciated. Due to earthquake in San Francisco we had to circle in air space for a bit but then had a smooth landing. I laud the flight crew for their patience ;)Easy to board. Flight was super crowded though so I didn't sleep well on that cross country red-eye flight. The aisles seem ot have gotten narrower and the seat smaller whn luggage and people are getting bigger so it would be AWESOME to have more space and breathing room in general ;)Excellent, professional, actually on time which is rare for late flights. Decent food. I love the new neck pillows! Nice, simple upgrade from the old ones I wasn't sure where to put. I wish they would allow more time for rest. It's a red eye 7 hour flight and meal service was about 3 hours. We boarded but then sat there waiting on some missed connection people to get on so we sat for about 15 minutes for that. Then we sat again because the passenger manifest was wrong and they had to figure it out before we could leave. That took about another 20 minutes or so. The crew was working hard to figure it out so it’s not their fault. It ended up being a system glitch where someone was upgraded to first class while another person was also in the same seat and it just created a mess that took a little while to figure out. They literally went to every person on the plane asking their names to see who was sitting in the wrong seat. I also hate the entertainment that must be watched on your phone or tablet. Just give us setback screens. It’s so much better. Almost every Delta flight has this now and it is so nice to haveComments
