Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan performs during KAABOO 2019 at the Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, in San Diego, Calif.(Amy Harris / Amy Harris/Invision/AP)Wu-Tang Clan is staging a farewell tour with a stop in North Texas this year. The New York hip-hop group, widely recognized as pioneers of the East Coast rap scene, announced “Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber Tour” on Monday. The 27-date tour is slated to begin June 6 in Baltimore before arriving at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on June 13. The tour will conclude on July 18 in Philadelphia. The group’s surviving original members — Raekwon, RZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa — will perform, The New York Times reported. Young Dirty Bastard, the son of late Wu-Tang member Ol’ Dirty Bastard, will also perform in addition to Cappadonna, who has performed with the group on-and-off throughout the years.Run The Jewels, a hip-hop duo consisting of rappers Killer Mike and El-P, will join Wu-Tang on the road as the opening act.The online Monday announcement video from the group featured a montage highlighting past Wu-Tang performances. The group last came to North Texas in 2022 during a joint tour with fellow New York rapper Nas. Raekwon recently was a headliner for the Deep Ellum Block Party in November.RZA, founder of Wu-Tang, sat down with The Times’ Popcast for an interview published Monday that addresses the legacy of the group.“There was a TV show on Netflix, ‘Hip-Hop Evolution.’ I was like, hold on, they’re kind of skipping some [expletive],” he said. “When I realized that part of what was being skipped was our story — the Wu-Tang story and what we helped bring the culture of hip-hop and even pop culture — it was important for me to take charge and be sure to tell the story, and tell it the way I thought was best.”The rap group was the subject of a 2019 Showtime documentary, Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men. RZA also co-created a Hulu series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, that ran for three seasons between 2019 and 2023 and was based on the formation of the group. For the upcoming tour, it was no small feat getting Wu-Tang back together for all of the dates.“Everybody has agreed to do this,” RZA told Popcast. “So we may come to your city, you’ll see all of us together and that may be the last time you see us all together in the physical. You might watch us on TV, but we’re not coming to your city again. We want you to come break bread with us.”DetailsTickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and start at $59.50. dickiesarena.com.The live music venueIT'S THE POPCAST – itsthepopcast

“What if we did a podcast episode, but in front of in-real-life people?” we asked ourselves, even though we were highly aware that when God made us, the box checked was for “podcasting” and not “stage performers.” “And instead of just talking at a table like other boring podcast live shows,” we continued hypothesizing, “what if we did a show that has visual elements, special video packages, fun segments, notable guests, audience interaction, and games?”No one ever answered if all these what-ifs were a good idea, SO WE ARE DOING IT ANYWAY, and you can join us IN PERSON at one of our live shows this June in Dallas or Chicago! These two-hour live shows will have the same heart as the weekly episodes but with all the best parts blown out for in-person consumption. Best of all? No edits, no censors, no takebacks, because it’s LIVE.This year, we’re also thrilled to announce that we will also be including a pre-show 30-minute LIVE Q & AUA available for VIPs at both shows. In lieu of a Meet and Greet, this change allows us to keep the chaos high while offering a VIP ticket experience to more attendees. You may be wondering, “What is a Q & AUA?” Short for “Question and Ask-Us-Anything,” just think regular monthly AUA, but more unhinged and chaotic because it’s in person. These Q & AUAs will feature Knox and Jamie answering questions submitted from VIPs with Erin moderating, wrangling, and reminding Jamie to take her night gummy at the appropriate time.We promise you’ll want to be in the room where it happens because while you probably won’t be educated on anything that matters, we can guarantee that you will be entertained.DATES + LOCATIONSDallas: Friday, June 21, 8pm CTGilley’s Dallas, Southside BallroomBuy Tickets: Saturday, June 22, 8pm CTThe Vic TheatreBuy Tickets: TYPES: VIP, PREFERRED 2 (P2), PREFERRED 3 (P3)VIP – $175Includes 30-minute Q+AUA with Knox, Jamie and ErinEarliest venue accessVIP Seat SelectionChicago is premium reserved ticket seatingDallas is General Admission with early VIP-only doors for first choice of seatingPreferred 2 (P2) – $100Preferred 2 Seat SelectionChicago is Preferred 2 reserved seatingDallas is General Admission with early P2-only doors to select your seat(s)Preferred 3 (P3) – $75Preferred 3 Seat SelectionChicago is Preferred 3 reserved seatingDallas is General Admission with doors open at 7pm CT to select your seat(s)**Note: Tickets are not exchangeable or refundable.SHOW INFOQ+AUA (VIPs only): 6-6:30pm CTShow Time: 8:00-10:30pm-ISH CTLIVESTREAMDate: Saturday, June 22, 8pm CTTicket Link: Purchase tickets HERE!Livestream Party Guide: Arrives as a Digital Download with your ticket!Livestream Details + FAQs: Located right here!We collaborated with Ethos Media for live streaming of Popcast events.DOORS INFODallas:VIP with Q+AUA: 530pm CTPreferred 2: 6:45pm CTPreferred 3: 7pm CTChicago:. PopCast - Sharing With The World
Wu-Tang Clan's last group tour, "Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber" with Run The Jewels, begins June 6 in Baltimore. You know Ernie Johnson Jr. best as a beloved commentator for the NBA, the MLB, and NCAA basketball, but did you know he's also a bit of a hip-hop head? The legendary Wu-Tang Clan tapped him to narrate a grand trailer for the "Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber" tour with Run The Jewels, which they labeled as their last-ever trek as a group. "From the slums of Shaolin to the world stage, they have conquered, endured and remained untouchable," Ernie expresses over footage of New York City. "The RZA, the GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon the Chef, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, Method Man: The Wu-Tang Clan." "The final chamber is upon us," Ernie Johnson continued regarding this final Wu tour. "The beats will hit harder, the rhymes will cut deeper, and the message will be louder than ever: Wu-Tang is forever." There are even rumors of new Wu-Tang Clan music coming soon, but that's just speculation. Nevertheless, the New York legends will hit the road starting June 6 in Baltimore, heading across the United States and Canada before wrapping up on July 18 in Philadelphia. For the kids! Who Will Perform On Wu-Tang Clan's Last Tour? As the tour name and circumstances imply, all nine living members of the Wu-Tang Clan will attend the "Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber" tour. Young Dirty Bastard will take his father's place for the tour, keeping his indelible hip-hop spirit alive along with the rest of the Wu. They have a lot to reflect on, as their careers both individually and collectively have many highs and lows. For example, the RZA recently remarked during a New York Times Popcast interview that Wu-Tang's HOT 97 ban hurt the culture. Elsewhere, the Wu-Tang Clan leader had more hip-hop thoughts to share as of late, namely on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. "[Kendrick Lamar versus Drake] was like Godzilla versus King Kong," he told the talk show host about the biggest rap battle... Ever, maybe? "It's valuable in hip-hop. Because hip-hop is a sport. It's a sport where we challenge MCs, we challenge the DJs, we challenge the breakdancers, we challenge who can make the best graffiti tag. It's good for the sport when there's confrontation, it's healthy. As long as it stays on the record and stays in the music, and it doesn't spill over to the streets where somebody gets hurt."
