(Read 32699 times) As these active pa speakers are fairly new out,I was wondering if anyone has used them???The db Technologies Opera412 use B&C bass and HF drivers, but I wonder how reliable the built in amplifier is vs Mackie SRM 450 active speaker???Don't want to buy something that might turn out crap,so need opinions and reviews of the db Technologies Opera range vs the Mackie SRM 450??? Logged I had a pair, which I sold. They sound pretty good but they won't get really loud in my opinion. Also, I think the power rating of the opera speakers is program power, where mackie specifies continous power, so the SRM450 amplifiers are about twice as powerful. To get enough GBF with them used as monitors. They simply weren't loud enough for my needs. I don't like them. Logged @toxic: I have two of the Opera Lyric 212, that's the little brother of the 412s. I didn't use them very often so I won't comment on reliability, but if the sound of the 412s is similar to the 212 you would want to have an additional subwoofer when using them as DJ monitors. Don't get me wrong - they sound very clear and fantastic for vocals but there is not much going on below 100hz.But that's usual club DJ-monitoring for me, where the levels are almost equal to the PA. If you are talking about 90-100dBSPL, maybe you should rather get two small speakers (8") and a small subwoofer, I think this would make the sound for the DJ much better.GBF: "Gain before feedback".
