How to Access and Use MultiWipeAugust 6, 2019MultiWipe is a feature to select multiple drives seen in the menu for batch wiping. By utilizing MultiWipe you can increase productivity by choosing multiple or various drives all at once. Once your drives are selected and added to the list they can be started to wipe simultaneously.Step 1You can access MultiWipe by pressing Ctrl and “M” or through the settings by selecting “Help”.Step 2Once MultiWipe is selected you can click “Select All” button for quickly choosing all drives seen in menu. If select all was chosen you can omit individual drives as well at this point by unchecking any unwanted drives.Note: Caution should be taken here to carefully determine all selected drives are the drives that need to be wiped. It is possible a drive listed here could be an Operating System or Data drive. MediaTools Wipe does contain safeguards to help limit Operating System drive overwriting by detecting them automatically. However secondary Operating System drives or Data drives can easily be overwritten,especially if running from the Ubuntu version.To prevent this we recommend using DriveLock to flag drives and save them [read more] to a list that can’t be wiped and removed from the MultiWipe menu as a safeguard.Step 3Now, select “Wipe Options” and choose your wiping settings. You can enter a custom fill pattern, add a verify and other options or chose a Wipe preset from the “Wipe Method” drop down menu.Note: When choosing preset wipe methods like “DoD 5220.22-M (D)” or “Gutmann” they may already include verify options and can not be modified so that the algorithm integrity is preserved.Step 4Once all of your proper drives and Wipe options are chosen click the “Start Wipe” button to proceed.Step 5If a drive has an error or you need to stop it before it finishes you can click the individual drive and click “Cancel” to stop the current operation on that drive. November 6th, 2008, 11:25 Unless you make your own disk cloning software/hardware, us data recovery guru's seem to have a good choice of commercial solutions. Theres Deepspar, Data Extractor, Data Compass, HDD Duplicator, YEC NINJA, Mediatools, DIY Diskpatch to name a few.I would like to hear your thoughts on whichever tools you use to recover from those disks was failing heads and degraded media. A few comparisions would be nice if your fortunate to own several of the above.
