Gemini will soon be able to summarize articles in Samsung Internet to make it much more useful for Galaxy users.Currently, Gemini can summarize articles in Google Chrome by attaching the URL of the page. However, other browsers like Samsung Internet only offer summaries based on screenshots, which aren’t as detailed. Now, Google and Samsung are working to make the summarize articles feature available in the Samsung Internet app.Right now, to use Gemini’s summarizing feature in Google Chrome, users tap the “Ask about this screen” option and type or say “Summarize.” This step attaches the full URL of the webpage, which allows Gemini to scan and summarize the whole article. This gives a more accurate summary because it analyzes the entire page.Image via Android AuthorityUnfortunately, this feature has only worked on Chrome and a few other apps. In Samsung Internet, Gemini could only grab a screenshot of what was visible on the screen to make the summaries less detailed. Now, a new feature has been spotted via Assemble Debug on Samsung Internet while using Google App 16.10.40.sa.arm64. These codes show that Gemini can now attach full URLs in Samsung Internet. This means Gemini can now analyze the entire article, not just what’s on the screenAlthough this feature hasn’t officially launched yet, it seems like it’s ready to roll out soon. If this update arrives for Samsung Internet, it will make the browsing experience even better for Galaxy users.Samsung devices could soon get WhatsApp-like sharing shortcut in Google MessagesComments

2025-03-28Welcome to another Samsung Week, our weekly series that explores 1st party apps and services in greater detail. This week, we're looking at Samsung Internet. What is it? And why would you want to use it instead of the alternatives? In short, Samsung Internet is the default web browser available on Galaxy devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. It's a part of One UI, but non-Galaxy device users can download it through the Play Store. However, Samsung Internet has some limitations on other device brands and offers the best and most complete experience when used on a Galaxy device.Story continues after the videoAs of September 2023, Samsung Internet was the third most popular mobile browser after Safary and Chrome, with a market share of 4.37% (via StatCounter). While it's easy to explain the browser's popularity through Galaxy device sales, Samsung Internet is actually a very competitive browser many people prefer using for a variety of reasons. What does the third-most-popular browser have to offer?Although Samsung Internet offers a vastly different experience than Google Chrome, Samsung's web browser is, in fact, based on the Chromium codebase. Samsung Internet has been Chromium-based since a decade ago. As of July 2023, Samsung Internet runs on Chromium version 111.This means Samsung Internet offers the same solid foundation as Google's Chrome browser but differs in some ways to cater to Samsung device users. For example, Samsung Internet offers numerous ad-blocker extension options, all of which can be downloaded via shortcuts in the browser's settings menu.Samsung Internet also has
