Engine toolbar[edit]Prior to version 4.41 installer versions of IrfanView supported a number of browser toolbars. Version 4.40 optionally installed the Amazon 1Button App (formerly the Amazon Browser bar).[1] Versions prior to 3.97 included the eBaybrowser toolbar, with installation selected by default. As of 4.41 no toolbars are included in the installer.Reception[edit]Irfanview For MacIrfanview has been positively reviewed as 'really good' for easily and rapidly viewing and manipulating images, with its editing and drawing tools.[20] Other writers have focused on its ability to open a wide variety of image formats.[18][19] In a series of image quality tests conducted in 2004, compared with commercial image compressors and Adobe Photoshop 7, Irfanview 3.91 produced 'consistently better images than the Adobe Photoshop JPEG encoder at the same data rate', and its JPEG2000 compression quality 'closely followed' the best codec, JasPer.'[21] According to IrfanView's official website, since 2003, IrfanView has been downloaded over 1 million times per month. One independent review in 2017 described Irfanview as 'the Swiss Army Knife of image viewers'.[15]Author[edit]Irfanview.comIrfan Škiljan graduated from the Vienna University of Technology. In a 2006 interview, then 32-year-old Škiljan said that he was able to more or less live off the software, generating income with the sale of licenses for commercial users and of special versions for different customers.[22]Logo/mascot[edit]According to Škiljan, the IrfanView logo and mascot is a 'road cat' (there is a tire track across the smallest icon)[23] but that he 'likes cats', and the icon is 'a joke' – the IrfanView website pictures him holding a white domestic cat.[8]Irfanview Free DownloadSee also[edit]References[edit]^ abHistory of changes for older versions of IrfanView^Skiljan, Irfan. Is XnView M Post by helmut » Thu May 12, 2016 3:33 pm ng4ever wrote:I went with IrfanView for now but convince me to go to XnView or XnView MP please! The difference of XnView and IrfanView is not so much the functionality, it's mainly the user interface:Please try out and compare XnView's browser and IrfanView's browser and you'll see: The user interface of XnView is much like Windows Explorer; clean, intuitive, and easy to use. IrfanView's "browser" is more like a special dialog or add-on which allows for working with multiple files but which isn't integrated well in the rest of the program. Therefore I'd say: If you want a program for viewing single images, only, then IrfanView does its job as good as XnView. For both viewing single images and handling and managing multiple images, you better use XnView. omniplex Posts: 127 Joined: Thu Feb 10, 2011 1:52 pm Location: Hamburg Contact: Re: XnView Minimal, Standard, or Extended ? Likewise any classic AddOn or Plugin can be downloaded separately. Yes boils down to NConvert 32bits (x86) and Shell Extension 32bits (x86 only), i.e., you need a separately downloaded Shell Extension 64bits (x64 only) on a 64bits Windows. Finally All means "almost all", the new FLIF thingy isn't included in the complete 2.36, the new 2.36 SVG feature is still unclear (for me), and I fear (please correct me) that BPG works only on 64bits platforms.

Exact path for Win 7 but it's very similar. Note though that as you paste in Win 7 you will be asked to give Administrator permission, which is a simple OK to the dialog.5) Open an image in IrfanView and select Image | Effects | Adobe 8BF filters and click on the Add Filters button.6) Select a filter and click Start Selected Filter.Sorry I didn't give these complete instructions before but the tone of your original post suggested you were familiar with IrfanView and its plugins.Ken 16th February 2013, 07:32 PM #11 Re: White Balancing in FastStone or Irfan Viewers? Thank you all for for your good advice.Just to make myself clear why I said "goodbye IrfanView":I had been using IrfanView 4.33 occasionally for a year or so, successfully opening .X3F files. I got it originally to get away from dependence on Adobe for post-processing (after using Sigma PhotoPro as the RAW converter). These days I tend to use SPP as a converter to TIF, then PSE more than anything else. That may yet change. My irritation with IrfanView stemmed
