About this mod Ethereal Elven Overhaul Patches for the Official DLC's, Interesting NPC's. Inconsequential NPC's and a few others. Requirements Permissions and credits Translations Polish I am a fan of Nuska's Ethereal Elven Overhaul modification for Skyrim, but I was a bit dissapoitned that the mod was not compatible with the official DLCs, and a few of the bigger mods that add mer NPCs (Interesting NPCs, Inconsequential NPCs, Immersive Patrols, Extended towns and cities, etc.)At first I intended to only use this for myself, but I've decided to upload it so other people can enjoy her work.Dawnguard was easy to do, only a handfull (three in fact) elves to edit.As you can imagine Dragonborn gave me a migrane, especially the few dozen or so varities of reavers, but I am pleased with the results. As an optional file, I gave Irileth and Jenessa their warpaint back. The reason was that a few NPCs from the Interesting NPCs mod comment on their warpaint, namely Larkspur.Of course the due credit for this wonderful Elven face Overhaul must be given to Nuska. This mod requires her original mod. Do not forget to endorse her mod:Ethereal Elven OverhaulCredits must also go to trilioth for resolving the conflicts in the Actor Records. Install First install nuska's original mod, then my main DLCs file, then my updated and cleaned plugin file.Replace when prompted. The rest of the files are optional patches for the other mods.Changes - I uploaded an up to date version for the Immersive Patrols mod, the merged esp version, - updated the Ravenrock expanded mod, - fixed a few minor issues with the Inconsequential NPCs mod. Added an esp to fix shovel-chiseled faces - Updated interesting npcs for the 3.05 version. Also added a plugin New to Sly Flourish? If you end up needing combat statistics for your NPC or monster, grab the closest stat block from the Monster Manual and reskin it for flavor. If you want some quick creature statistics, try out the following formulas (round down):AC / DC = 12 + 1/2 CRAttack Bonus / Primary Saves = 3 + 1/2 CRHit Points = 15 + 15 x CRBase Damage = 5 + 5 x CRThe Importance for Improvising NPCsMonte Cook, designer of the third edition of D&D and the Numenera roleplaying game, wrote an interesting article called PCs versus NPCs in which he discusses the time we often waste putting together statistics for NPCs. These non-playing characters (NPCs), he argues, just show up, talk for a bit, and disappear forever. Here's an excerpt:NPC (and creature) detail is one of the ways in which designers and GMs are often forced to waste a lot of time. That's because the game has all these great rules for fleshing out PCs and making them cool and interesting. A game that explores how well a PC is at combat, at interaction, at a wide variety of skills and actions, and makes all those things equally interesting is a great game. But then, it comes time to make NPCs.Monte argues that the details our game needs for player characters to stay interesting doesn't apply to NPCs or monsters. Often some quick statistics are all we need to run most NPCs and monsters. Numenera and the Cypher RPG

Mods that add interesting NPCs to talk to, that ISN'T Interesting NPCs

The future Lots of different civilizations, each with its own playstyle and unique bonuses Randomly generated maps – tweak generator settings to create your own playgroundSummaryDepending on the genre, adding NPCs to the game is often necessary to make the title more enjoyable to play. But what is an NPC? It’s simply any character that is not controlled by players – a non-player character. It could be a simple pedestrian, a quest-giver, a merchant, a computer-controlled member of your team, or even a character controlled by someone from the development team. Although monsters and creatures are also technically non-player characters, these are rarely referred to as such. More often than not an NPC means a human or humanoid being that’s scripted to perform simple tasks or is not scripted at all. Now, what makes NPC an interesting one? Well, it depends on what we consider interesting. Dialogues may be interesting, but so does his voice, appearance, style of combat, his past, and so on. Interesting doesn’t necessarily mean original, but it could be the case – an original character has a lot more potential to become an interesting one than a character with a copy-pasted personality. If we extend the definition of an NPC to any non-player being, even one without a body, then it opens up some new possibilities to consider, such as the narrator from The Stanley Parable. If you know other interesting NPCs that couldn’t be found on the list above, feel free to share.. Edited May 16, 2017 by Shivala Non-Player Characters, or NPCs, are extremely useful tools at a DM’s disposal. These are the characters that you create to live in your world and interact with your players’ characters. NPCs can serve nearly any purpose, but it’s important that they feel as real as you can make them. Getting your players invested in these characters will facilitate many opportunities for plot insertion as well as occasions for excellent role play. Let’s take a look at creating NPCs.The BasicsRegardless of how long you’ll use an NPC, you’ll need at least a basic description of their physical characteristics. Race, age, gender, and occupation will do if they’re just a throw away character. Not every baker needs an elaborate backstory, but all the power to you if you’d like to go the extra mile.Characters that you plan on using regularly should have a proper backstory. If they’re powerful in any way, you might want to create a character sheet for them like your players have. You might find it to be a useful reference if the plot demands they suddenly have to fight.Your NPCs should also have some kind of personality. Try to challenge yourself to make interesting characters who are not cliches. Not every Dwarf has to be a alcoholic blacksmith. In fact, some of the most interesting characters are the ones who fight against cast-typing. Your players will be more interested in finding out why that Dragonborn became a poet versus finding yet another Halfing who’s trying to pick their pockets.NPCs should also have a goal. As a DM tool, their goal might simply be to tell your players about a quest line or side story. Fully realized NPCs will have more elaborate ambitions in life. NPC goals might be to bring someone who wronged them to justice, learn a new skill, or find something important that was lost long ago. Your players may choose to either help or hinder your NPCs with their ambitions.Adding Depth to NPCsCharacter depth is not something that you can quickly create. It takes time for characters to get to know each other, just like people in real life. If your players won’t engage your NPC with idle chat, take it upon yourself to ask the questions or offer insight and personal history. Revisit the same characters when players return to previous locations, or have familiar characters pop up in other world locations. After all, not everyone stays in the same town they grew up in their whole life.Details, DetailsThe more detailed an NPC is, the life-like they will be. Giving your players a short introduction to a character is an easy way to add authenticity to your characters. If you make an NPC who features prominently into a quest, give them a proper introduction before they even say a word to your players. A physical description coupled with tone of voice (and accents if you’re up to it) will go a long way in creating a clear mental image for your players.Giving your character

ANNA NPCS NOW INTERACT WITH LUCIEN FOLLOWER! Banter is fully contained within the Lucien esp., no patch required. For banter to fire you just need to be outdoors and the characters sort of near each other. It fires randomly. Permission for Porting to Consoles:I'm sorry but No. I do not give anyone permission to port Anna NPCs to XBox, Bethesda, or any other platform. I have been asked this numerous times, and while I appreciate the enthusiasm, I always say no. I will never be giving permission for this to be ported. 1) I use many assets and resources from other authors, and some of them don't want their assets shared outside Nexus, and I respect and need users to also respect that. 2) there is absolutely no way I could support it if it were ported to Xbox. I don't have one, and have no idea how the mod would behave, and no ability to fix any problems. It's not flawless as it is on PC, but at least on PC I can do something or provide some sort of help and troubleshooting. This mod, until such time as I can create a "lighter" version and reduce the amount of outside assets, at which time I would port it myself, this mod must remain a Nexus PC-only mod. [Discussion] With Interesting NPCs - Who are the best NPCs to

Been out of it for a while and saw some new interesting land/quest mods have showed up.As I remember Requiem is great, fairly easy to jump in, full package, but doesn't play well with others...especially large additions. Also biggest weakness: it's perks system seems a bit basic/vanilla compared to something like Ordinator.Anyone have recommendations for the alternative? This list seems interesting: Mods:MorrowLoot Ultimate - De-levels loot and adds more serious encounter zones to Skyrim (better loot is rarer regardless of your level and enemies in dungeons, forts etc will spawn at higher values e.g. bleakfalls barrow will have a minimum enemy level of c.a. 15). It also changes potions to have an effect over time - no spamming 5 health potions at once, each has it's effect over 5 seconds and the newest one cancels the previous one. Also includes a custom uncapper setting to slow down leveling so you appreciate your character's growth. Includes plenty of merge-able patches for most of the most popular armour/weapon mods and ideally used with Scarcity.ERSO NPC Overhaul - De-levels almost all NPCs and gives them appropriate perks; guards and soldiers are tough, named NPCs will cause some serious damage - wiping out the dark brotherhood is now a rather challenging endeavour. If you head over to the ERSO Overhaul page on the site you'll find a modular installer for the other parts, all of which are highly recommended, especially the npc encounters (the populated series can be found there along with an updated version. Care of another issue where miscellaneous quests weren't showing in my log. When I re-opened my old game after the clean install , I saw the misc quest tab was back again. I wish it had taken care of the Sofia issue too...
 Share Well do you use SKSE ? Edited July 11, 2015 by iraido
 Share I have Serana as a follower and Arissa.I also have Interesting NPCs as a mod.I have added Sofia but when I go to the stable to talk to her, she gets through most of her dialogue but when it comes to her asking about me, no dialogue box comes up for me to continue the conversation. I can look around but not continue the dialogue nor do any of the keys (tab, ~, ESC, CTRL) work. I have to go to Ctrl Alt Del and use Task Manager to end Skyrim. Do I need to change the load order to put her in front of Interesting NPCs and Arissa? I really want to add Sofia as a mod as she is quite funny but can't get past this spot.
 Author Share I do use SKSE. Would that affect the dialogue options?
 Share SKSE is necessary for some features. Then this must be a mod conflict, probably with something that affects NPC/Followers
 Share I also recently installed BOSS and TESSEdit after this issues started. BOSS put this plugin as an Unrecognized Plugin and has it dead last. TESSEdit does show some issues with Dawnstar..
