Ultimate GSI guide for beginners (Where to find GSI, how to port GSI, how to flash GSI etc.) Thread starter seelenchik Start date Sep 28, 2024 #1 Hi all. I hope you are doing well! I dont really know how to name this topic, it can have a lot of names... But the point is, i want to teach all GSI users about the community, how to port GSI and to flash them...Im gonna split the thread in a few big topics, so that you cannot miss anything. Also i have everything essential for GSI linked in the end of the guide, so no scattering around the internet to find those. The GSI essential files are marked with this yellow color. Also, an unlocked bootloader is essential when you flash GSI.First, a few essential terms that every GSI user should know. Without knowing all this, you cannot learn those topics.GSI: stands for Generic System Image. This is the system image.Vendor: For most GSI this is needed for features such as display.SGSI: stands for Semi-GSI. You need a vendor for an SGSI to boot.Permissiver: This allows for GSI to boot. If you do not flash it, TWRP will give you a warning that says "OS not installed! Are you sure to boot?" indicating that you need permissiver, then the warning will dissapear and you can boot into the GSI.DSU Sideloader: Stands for Dynamic System Updates. You can download a AOSP gsi or import the GSI from your device. It then creates a new dynamic partition, loads the GSI onto the new partition, and then your phone boots into your desired GSI. It works for Android 10 and newer. Now, if you are done learning the essentials, lets get over to the real work. You can choose what to do, but i recommend to look at the first one, to see how to flash GSI on your device.Pre-requesites:Your device MUST support Treble! It is still in the early stages of beta testing in other smartphone brands that Google partnered with. So, what about those users who would like to get their hands on this new update, but don’t own any of the models from the list? Well, here is a solution for that. If your device supports project treble and GSI, it is fully possible to download & install Android 12 on Fusion5 W104Plus as well. Here is a complete guide on what GSI is and how to install Android 12 on Fusion5 W104Plus through GSI if supported. What is GSI & How does it worksGSI stands for Generic System Image. A GSI package refers to a system of images with adjustable confrontation for project treble support compatible with Android devices. How it works is Google has enabled all the non-pixel devices with the Android operating system to be able to flash the GSI package according to their device’s respective supportability with the project treble and enjoy their latest android OS system. Prerequisites Before Installing Android 12 on Fusion5 W104Plus via GSIFor downloading Android 12 GSI through using the DSU method. You will be able to download android 12 as part of the guest OS along with your current android system. For this process, you will require no computer, PC or root to install android 12 on Fusion5 W104Plus .There are, however, a few prerequisites in this procedure:Your device must have an unlocked bootloader Your device must be shipped with android 10+ loader Your device must support dynamic partitions ( project treble) Check if Fusion5 W104Plus supports GSI (project treble support)Now to check if Fusion5 W104Plus supports android GSI or the dynamic partition from our list of prerequisites. Download an application called treble information from google play store on Fusion5 W104Plus . Here you will see the treble, vendor development and kit status. On scrolling further, you will see the option for dynamic partitions. Here, you can find out if your device supports GSI or not. If it does, you will see “your device uses a dynamic partition (super partition)” written here, which means it is enabled by default. Download Android 12 GSI for Fusion5 W104Plus As we said, the basic idea around Android GSI is that not all android users operate a Pixel or Samsung device, to which the Android 12 update is limited to till now. However, if your device does consist of GSI USB, this enables you to download Android 12 on your device with no PC or root, using GSI.First, if you want to learn how to install android 12 on your device, make sure your device matches all the requirements we have listed above. We are going to be using the DSU method here to upgrade your device to Android 12. DSU will work wonders for you if you want to experience the new OS without wanting to damage your previous one. What is DSU?When Google released Android 10, they also introduced a feature called the DSU. Which stands for Dynamic System

Here is how to solve the problem!Oh no...You fell for an trickUsually bootloop is something different... Stuck at bootlogo, then reboots after 1 minute means Vendor is unsupported, flash an different one.If it bootloops, reboots in 10-20 seconds then the ROM you are trying to flash is not for the deviceWhat if the problem isnt an bootloop?:Stuck at Logo of GSI: try nuking SetupWizard if you flashed with custom recovery. Or flashing different vendors should work too!Instant reboot to download/fastboot: Wrong GSI type or incorrect vendor... Unsupported kernel or magisk can do this too but very rarelyStuck at boot then reboot to download/fastboot: You flashed something that the GSI you are using doesnt support. Try different magisk versions or vendor. What if Mystic or Origin declines or ignores your GSI request. Take revenge and build GSI too. We have 2 tutorials, SGSI and GSI.Lets start with GSI porting:The origingsi tool has a lot of issues and there is no better alternative. For example you only can port Generic and Pixel ROMs since Android 11. And no Android 13 support sadly.Mystic and Nippon have their own scripts for GSI building.Prerequisites:PC or computer, minimal specs are 4 core chipset, 8 GB RAM and Ubuntu 18.04 or newer, MacOS or WSL.Atleast 15 GB free space.SSD is idealInstalled gitGo on the terminal:Type this command: Once done, type this: Set up your requiremets: Generate URL to stock rom.
