Remember when I said that initially the intent was to create audios and reading materials just for me? Back then, I was only thinking about people such as myself, those who knew enough Spanish to get by but wanted to take their Spanish to another level with lots of raw, edgy Spanish-learning content.After the release of Gritty Spanish Parte II, I knew that I had to create a version that was more intermediate, so I released Gritty Spanish Beginnings. I am going to write my own conversations, get someone to translate them all, and ask Spanish-speaking people in the neighborhood to come by and dramatically voice-act these short stories.”About 2 years prior to starting Gritty Spanish, I had worked with a Soca artist from my home country, Grenada. I also had the opportunity to work closely with the producers on a few small projects, so I had a great general idea of how songs were made. I never wanted to become a music producer or a musical artist, but I utilized what I had learned working with them to mix audios – Spanish-learning audios, that is!Gritty Spanish was only for meWhen I first came up with the concept, it was never meant to be a Spanish-learning resource for the public.
