Home News Fortnite Image credit: VG247 News by Kirk McKeand Former Deputy Editor Published on Sept. 12, 2018 Epic Games is ramping up for the next season of Fortnite, teasing the theme with changes to the map. The mysterious purple lightning strikes that have been happening across the map have now stopped after focusing on a single area in Paradise Palms. In their place is a purple cube that materialised from the assault. If you strike the cube, runes appear on its surface. It also slowly charges your shield if you hang about on it for a while. Screengrab via Epic Games What will it do in Tilted? | Published: Sep 18, 2018 04:34 pm This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information The giant purple cube has rolled in through the southwest portion of Tilted Towers, the most popular and quite possibly most iconic point of interest in all of Fortnite. Tilted Towers, highly-regarded as one of the most-populated places on the Fortnite map at the beginning of games, is now playing host to an abnormally large cube with supernatural powers. On Aug. 28, the cube stopped moving and created the first gravitational field near Fatal Fields. The next day, the first rune appeared in the ground where the cube was resting. Since then, other gravitational fields have emerged near Greasy Grove, Salty Springs, Retail Row, Wailing Woods, Lazy Links, and Pleasant Park. And each time, the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh runes spawned at these respective locations the following day. Screengrab via Epic Games The Reddit post that correctly predicted each location did not have any more expected low-gravity fields or runes after yesterday’s, however. With that pattern appearing to have concluded, anything can happen now. There have been various rumors and theories on what the cube will do on the Fortnite map, and how it ties into the impending sixth season. At the end of season four, Epic Games set up the rocket launch, which created rifts and brought about major changes to the map—and the cube very may

Fortnite: Live Cube Event Scheduled for Today - IGN

Kevin the Cube is back in Fortnite thanks to the OG Season, but players are disappointed since the iconic character is missing a key feature on the island. Here’s what Fortnite fans are talking aboutFortnite Chapter 4 Season 5, better known as Fortnite OG, is celebrating some of the best seasons in the battle royale’s history. Players can jump onto the island to enjoy the OG map alongside classic weapons, returning vehicles, and much more. The nostalgia-filled season already broke records on launch and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down any time soon. The November 9 update expanded the weapon and item pool by bringing back key elements from Chapter 1 Seasons 6 and 7. What’s more, Epic Games also brought Kevin the Cube back, but not all players are happy with its return. The Cube that played an important role through different seasons in Chapter 1 can be seen in Loot Lake, but Fortnite fans were quick to spot a big issue with it. “Kevin doesn’t interact with the player anymore,” wrote Reddit user ‘-N0obmaster69.‘ In their clip, the player shoots Kevin the Cube repeatedly, but nothing happens. Hardcore fans remember they got struck by lightning if they attacked Kevin in Chapter 1.“Then it’s not Kevin, that’s a whole imposter,” joked a Reddit user, and another added, “He’s just going through a lot right now. Let him be, he’ll cheer up eventually.”While many players are disappointed Kevin the Cube doesn’t interact with the player in any way in Fortnite OG, no one knows if it’s something intentional or an issue that might be fixed later. Others think that bringing back all of Kevin’s features could have been a development nightmare for Epic Games and their testers, and it’s not really worth it for a season that lasts less than a month. On the other hand, another group of Fortnite fans believe this is intentional. “Theory this isn’t the original timeline,” commented one Reddit user. “That’s why some things are different on the map and the fusion skins,” explained another user, referring to the revamped Battle Pass skins. Some players believe that time is unstable, and we’ll see even more differences like this with upcoming updates.Whether this is an issue or part of Epic Games’ masterplan for the OG Season, it remains to be seen. In the meantime, make sure to make the most of the season by checking all available Weekly Quests and the best landing spots this season.

Fortnite cube: Where is the Fortnite cube on the map? Where is it

The Cube Assassin is no pushover NPC. Here's where to find her in Fortnite. Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 8 is well underway. As part of the new threats players will encounter in the new season, a certain NPC has been thrown into the mix and she's not friendly. The Cube Assassin is a Sideways NPC which players can attempt to take on in the hopes of earning some decent rewards. Keep in mind that she's a boss, so defeating her will prove to be quite the challenge. Make sure you're prepared. Of course, the first thing you're going to need to do is find her. Here's what you need to know. Ready your defenses and cross into The Sideways. Cubes have crash-landed on the Island and it’s up to us to fight for the Island’s survival...before it’s too late.#FortniteCubed pic.twitter.com/3xczBYKmBJ— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) September 13, 2021The Cube Assassin can be found in the Sideways Anomalies. These rifts spawn at random locations around the map, so their spots will likely change each match. Be sure to check your in-game map to see where they've spawned. These Sideways Encounters can be challenging, so make sure you've stocked up on everything you need before going in. Players will have to fight through a wave of Cube Monsters before a Boss potentially spawns. The Cube Assassin isn't guaranteed to spawn in the first anomaly you find, so you might have to try a few before she makes an appearance. The fight will begin with a wave of Cube Monsters, involving the standard zombie types, projectile throwers, and poison gas cloud erupters. Roughly 20 seconds or so into the fight, the Cube Assassin will hopefully spawn towrds the center of the rift. As mentioned, this isn't guaranteed so you might need to try again elsewhere. The Cube Assassin is armed with a Sideways Minigun, which increases in damage the more it's fired. She will also periodically raise a shield wall in front of herself, which will block all front facing damage. During this phase, her back is vulnerable so the trick is to quickly get behind her to deal your damage.Like most bosses, the Cube Assassin will have a shield bar and a health bar so it might take a few bouts of attacks to defeat her if you're doing this solo. These encounters are naturally easier with friends, so getting a squad together will increase your chances of success.Once defeated, the Sideways zone will disappear, and she'll turn into a ghost NPC for you to purchase Cube Monster parts from..
