2025-03-24As we tick down the days to the launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the buzz couldn't be louder, especially with Square Enix dropping a bombshell today: a sneak peek demo of the game is available to download at the PlayStation Store. It’s not just a quick teaser, as the demo offers a deep dive into the early game sequence including a flashback sequence of the Nibelheim incident. But Square Enix isn't stopping there. An update slated for 21 February will include the Junon region, offering a glimpse of what's to come before the game's launch on 29 February. As an added bonus, players with a save data from the demo can claim a kupo charm (that increases the number of resource items extracted) and adventuring items set in the full game as well as a survival set that includes potions and ethers. Players who complete the Nibelheim episode will be able to skip the same section in the full game too.Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the middle chapter in a trilogy set to reimagine Square Enix's iconic 1997 JRPG, Final Fantasy VII. Following the footsteps of Final Fantasy VII Remake (read our review here), which first hit the shelves in 2020 for the PS4 before making its way to PS5 and PC, the anticipation for this release is sky-high.I’m excited to see how Nibelheim will look like in all its 4K splendour.
