Final Fantasy 14 just gave players a first look at the upcoming Heavensturn event for the beginning of 2024, featuring an adorable chocobo minion and a cameo from Seyriu. Fans can participate in this Final Fantasy 14 event for about two weeks starting on New Year’s Eve. Heavensturn is the Final Fantasy 14 equivalent for New Year’s Day. Each year, Final Fantasy 14 holds an in-game event around this time, offering a brief-but-charming questline and cosmetic rewards inspired by the Chinese Zodiac. For the Year of the Dragon in 2024, Final Fantasy 14 is bringing back an unexpected favorite character to aid in the event. Seiryu, the serpent-like dragon Auspice and member of the Four Lords, will be a part of this year’s quest. According to the FF14 special site for the event, players can begin this event at level 15 by picking up the quest, To Be a Mascot, from Ryu Metsuke, located at the Aftcastle in Limsa Lominsa’s Upper Decks, from December 31 through January 15. Completing this quest rewards players with Ryunosuke, an adorable baby chocobo minion wearing a dragon costume. When Does the Heavensturn Event Start in FF14? December 31, 2023 through early morning January 15, 2024. Players are excited to see Seiryu come back in next year’s Heavensturn event. The austere Final Fantasy 14 boss is a fan favorite, and as a dragon inspired by Chinese myth, he is a perfect pick for Heavensturn. Players will have to see how his cameo plays out once the event goes live, but given the history of past Heavensturns, it will probably be both comical and touching.
