Avoid any surprises. If you prefer more coverage, opt for clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. You can also bring a light robe or cover-up to wear between treatments.Style and FashionWhile comfort and functionality should be your top priorities, there’s no reason why you can’t look stylish and fashionable at the spa. Choose spa attire that makes you feel confident and comfortable. You can opt for neutral colors or fun prints, depending on your personal style.Remember that the spa is a place of relaxation, so avoid clothing that is too tight or constricting. Instead, opt for loose-fitting clothes that allow you to fully unwind and enjoy your treatment. What to Wear to Different Types of SpasDay SpaWhen visiting a day spa, comfort is key. Opt for loose, non-restrictive clothing that allows for easy movement. Yoga pants, leggings, or sweatpants paired with a t-shirt or tank top are great options. If you plan on using the sauna or steam room, be sure to bring a change of clothes. Most day spas provide robes and slippers, but it’s always a good idea to bring your own flip-flops or sandals.Resort SpaResort spas often have a dress code, so it’s important to check with the spa before your visit. In general, resort spas tend to be more formal than day spas. Women may want to wear a sundress or skirt with a blouse, while men can opt for khakis and a collared shirt. If you plan on using the pool or hot tub, be sure to bring a swimsuit and cover-up. Don’t forget to bring comfortable shoes for walking around the resort.Hot Springs SpaIf you’re visiting a hot springs spa, be prepared to get wet. Bring a swimsuit and a change of clothes. It’s best to wear clothes that dry quickly, such as athletic wear or lightweight cotton. Avoid wearing jewelry or anything that might be damaged by exposure to water. If you plan on hiking or exploring the surrounding area, be sure to bring sturdy shoes.Ayurvedic SpaAyurvedic spas often use oils and other treatments that can stain clothing, so it’s best to wear something that you don’t mind getting dirty. Loose, comfortable clothing made from natural fibers like cotton or linen is ideal. Women may want to wear a long skirt or loose pants, while men can wear loose-fitting pants and a t-shirt. Avoid wearing anything too tight or restrictive, as Ayurvedic treatments often involve massage and stretching. What Not to Wear to a SpaAs someone who has visited many spas, I can tell you that there are some items of clothing that you should avoid wearing to a spa. Here are some things to keep in mind:Avoid wearing anything too tight or restrictive. YouThe Langham Sydney Day Spa, Sydney (New South Wales) - Spa
In full recovery mode after being shuttered by the pandemic, day spas are a multi-billion dollar industry, no longer treated as special-occasion destinations. And in New Orleans, a city that can just about do a body in, day spas offer services that are especially appreciated by tuckered tourists and locals alike. Lovers of the spa/salon experience know that pampering treatments work wonders on everything from a strained neck to tired feet and a case of the grumps.Massage therapy relieves chronic stress and tension, headaches and tendonitis. Skin treatments slough off dead skin, tighten pores and promote skin’s natural healthy glow. And a stylish haircut can banish bad hair days for the foreseeable future. What's your pleasure? At these spas, located in some of the city's best hotels as well as in neighborhoods around town, options abound. One popular treatment is hot stone massage, with the therapist placing warmed smooth stones on body pressure points, in combination with fragrant essential oilts aromatherapy. Why not double your pleasure with a four-handed massage, with two trained therapists coordinating tandem Swedish, deep tissue or reflexology massage for 50, 60 or 90 minutes of sheer bliss. Or opt for a wellness treatment that might incorporate alternative practices such as energy medicine, reiki, and Traditional Chinese reflexology using pressure points to relieve stress and put your mind and body at ease.No. 10: Earthsavers SpaUptownThis Uptown day spa, with locations in Metairie and in Mandeville across the lake, was co-founded by locals Karen Adjmi and Jackie Palumbo more than 25 years ago. From the start, the idea was advocating beauty from the inside out, a holistic approach that brings together wellness for mind, body and spirit. Relaxing services include manicure, pedicure, massage, reflexology, spa services and waxing. Products are formulated from botanically derived components whenever possible, all mineral oil free and 100% naturally scented with essential oils. The spa menu is voluminous - there are more than 30 options for waxing alone! and includes the likes of microdermabrasion, cupping and prenatal massage.Beth's expert tip: Ask about health consultations which can help with everything from intermittent fasting to immune. My friend and I want to go do a spa day, any suggestions on best day spa? We are thinking of a package that includes massage/facial/pedi or mani. Thanks! Joshua's Couch Day Spa and Massage service.People swear by it. Okay some of my favorites include:The Retreat (Good Bang for your buck and actually good masseuse but smaller), Ritz Carlton Spa (Just a great experience), Hotel Monteleone Spa (really nice and intimate location), Bella Donna (can get a little pricy), I actually also like Earthsavers great massage there Many of the spas in NOLA are smaller so if you want side by side appointments you may need to go to one of the bigger spaces. It also depends on what day of the week. Only the hotels (and maybe Belladonna) has Sunday appointments.Good luck! Woodhouse on canal is really small, but nice My spa by the park in LakeviewBalance Spa & Fitness @ Lowes on Poydras Thanks for all the great suggestions! I'm staying at the Royal Sonesta in the French Quarter after Christmas this year - any great Day Spas within walking distance? Any with one of those weightless floating beds for a wrap? Thank you & Cheers Dears!~GJ Lisa - Earthsavers (multiple locations) has always been my go to when it comes to facials, massages and mani/pedis. The Ritz Carlton is a more luxurious experience though. Gwyneth - The Ritz Carlton spa might be your best bet in terms of proximity to your hotel and overall experience. Its probably a 5 minute walk from your hotel and my experience there was nothing short of amazing. This conversation is older than 2 months and has been closed to new posts.Comments
