Cant hear host audio - Web - Zoom Developer Forum
Hello, I recently bought a new Dell G15. I play weekly Dungeons and Dragons via Zoom where the host shares music with us. I can hear everyone speaking, but cannot hear the music. Everyone else can hear the music perfectly. I can only hear their voices. Someone other than host tried sharing music. Everyone else could hear it except me. I can hear my friends voices perfectly fine. It is as though some setting is automatically muting the music. This happens when I use the base speakers and microphone on the laptop, or when I use a Snowball external microphone and headphones, or when I use airpods. Any combination of base system, headphones, external microphone, I can hear my friends' voices but cannot hear the music. Yes, I have made sure to select the correct output speaker and input headphones, in both desktop client settings and in the actual meetings. No combination of selected speaker (Speakers Realtek Audio, Same as System Speakers Realtek Audio, or Headphones) and selected Microphone (Microphone Array AMD Audio Device, Same as System Microphone Array AMD Audio Device, or Blue Snowball) allows me to hear the shared music. SOMETIMES I hear it for a moment when I connect. Then it is automatically muted by something.Yes, I have set Audio Profile -> Background noise suppression to "low".To be clear, I am not trying to share my audio. I cannot hear when others share music. I can hear their voices, but not the music.Surely there is some setting that is automatically detecting and muting the music? Does anyone with a Dell G15 have issues with music on zoom? In System -> Sound -> Volume Mixer I also select the correct output device (Headphones usually) and input device (external Snowball microphone usually). Also important is, when I play my OWN music on my laptop while in a Zoom meeting, it is garbled and choppy and extremely distorted. For example, trying to play Spotify or Youtube through my headphones to create my own background music for the Dungeons and Dragons. I can barely hear it even when I mess around with app volumes in the Volume Mixer. This only happens while in a Zoom Meeting. Thanks for the read and for any help. I am at a loss. Clearly I am missing some Zoom or Dell AI-noise cancelling setting. The speakers and headset both work fine for music, video games, everything

When connecting to our Zoom Room via HDMI the laptops sound can't be heard. The laptop's HDMI audio shows up as a separate microphone. The only way to hear the laptop's audio is to switch from the Room's microphone from the DSP ceiling mics to the HDMI audio input. Of course this means that remote attendees can now only hear the laptop audio and not the presenter. One hardware solution is to use an HDMI audio extractor and route the laptop audio through the DSP, but it seems like this is something Zoom should handle gracefully in software. Is there a setting I'm missing? If the laptop shares to the room wirelessly, all the audio works fine, but presenters really like the HDMI connection because it allows them to see their PowerPoint presenters notes on their laptop and connecting through the Zoom client does not. Also some guest speakers are not allowed to run Zoom on their laptops.host cant hear participants - Zoom Community

If that doesn't fix the problem, go back into General preferences and make a note of your Temporary Files Directory. What is it set to?By the way, did you know you can upgrade all the way to Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio for only $39? morty Posts: 62 Joined: Sat Jun 13, 2009 11:03 am Re: Its recording but cant see wave forms Post by morty » Tue Feb 18, 2020 2:47 pm If that doesn't fix the problem, go back into General preferences and make a note of your Temporary Files Directory. Hours going down rabbit holes on reddit but heres how I got it to work. Go to device manager and show hidden devices -- under Audio inputs and Outputs delete everything airpod related. Then go to bluetooth and remove your airpods device from bluetooth. Reboot the computer do a (hard) amber light reset on the airpod case. Also uninstall Zoom and delete any folder in your computer related to Zoom, you may have to do a bit of searching. Finally restart your laptop and re-pair your airpods. Hope this works for you! This acutally worked. Thank you!1. Unistall Zoom on you PC, and everything related to Zoom2. Forget AirPods Pro 2 on you computer. Go to Device Manager, and under "Audio Inputs and Outputs" delete things related to Airpods and reboot the airpods.3. Restart your computer, once it´s up and running, install again Zoom.4. Reconnect you AirPods Pro 2 to your computer. 5. Run Zoom and choose your AirPods as your speakers and mic. It should be working instantly. Or, ZOOM could do something like FIX THE D**N PROBLEM! It’s actually Apple who should fix. Because my AirPods also do not work with Google Meet. I can hear the audios fine (zoom & meet), but I was never able to make the mic work. It worked for me too. thank you! same problem, mic works but audio is too low to hear from airpods in zoom. What happens if you you cant hear audio in a zoom court case?
Hello--I can no longer hear musical instruments on Zoom. The musician will have original sound for musicians turned on and others in the Zoom can hear them, but I can hear only voice, not the instrument. I turned background noise to low in audio settings, but that didn't help. This problem cropped up a couple of months ago--I used to be able to hear them, but can't now. However, I can hear instruments on other meeting apps, so I don't think this is a Windows issue and think it's a Zoom issue. Will appreciate any suggestions! Thanks-- Audiomusic All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic 15 REPLIES 15 It sounds like Zoom's audio settings might be filtering out the instruments as background noise. Make sure the musician has "Original Sound" enabled and that both you and the musician have "High fidelity music mode" turned on in the advanced audio settings. Additionally, check if "Echo cancellation" is set to auto or aggressive, which could be affecting the audio. By the way if you are interested in music creation or production, I can share this music forum for you. There are a lot of information both for beginners and experts in this field. Thanks very much, Hommat, and apologies for the delay. This is helpful - should "Echo Cancellation" be set to auto or aggressive? Mine is currently set to auto and I cannot hear my student. I will make sure they have "High fidelity music mode" toggled on, but otherwise all the settings seem correct for this one student and I can't hear her. I tried every combination even unsinstall and reinstalling older version, it's just not working, I'm gonna ask for a refund... Same issue here. And it seems lots of other people are having this issue. See if you have Realtek Audio Console - if you do, there's a setting Speakers->Sound Effects->Speakers Noise Cancellation (Voice Call). Try turning this off - I think this *may* have solved it for me. I would guess that other sound software may have a similar 'feature' that could be causing the issue. this worked for me. I have an Asus laptop. I think the audio app is called different names for different laptop brands. just search for the audio app of your laptop brand and turn off noise cancellation from there. Seems the issue reapeared after the last W11 updates, worked fine withCant hear sound on computer, not able to hear audio or youtube

Haha yeah now that Zenology is in the mix I guess we cant refer to everything as the Roland Cloud now.. I was shocked to hear how it sounded and performed. I havent given the ACB one a run yet, but Zenology's filter ruins the whole thing, otherwise the VCO's themselves are VERY close. And the CPU usage goes through the roof with it, the Juno was even worse than the Jupiter expansion CPU wise. Had a whole core maxed out and the audio kept cutting in and out because of it too.. After that TAL update last week, TAL dropped from a full core down to about 15-20% running the same patch I was using in Zenology.
