Niantic has released a slew of new content for Pokémon GO, including another batch of Sinnoh Pokémon. Read on below for all the details:More Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region have arrived in Pokémon GO! From seas and beaches to mountains and beyond, be on the lookout for Cherubi, Cherrim, Burmy, Wormadam, Mothim, Gible, Gabite, Garchomp, Hippopotas, Hippowdon and others. Also arriving in Pokémon GO is a powerful Ground-type move—Earth Power!Inspired by research collected from around the world, three upgraded Lure Modules have been developed. These modules attract Pokémon in the surrounding area while creating a temporary special habitat. You can now harness the power of Glacial Lure Modules, Mossy Lure Modules and Magnetic Lure Modules. These lures can also cause Evolution in certain Pokémon. More details on these new additions:Additional Sinnoh Pokémon are now available to catch in the wild and hatch from Eggs.Earth Power is a powerful Ground-type Charged Attack that could lower your opponent’s defense in Trainer Battles.Certain Pokémon recently arrived from the Sinnoh region will know Earth Power.Other Pokémon that could know Earth Power include Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Aerodactyl, Camerupt, and Claydol.Glacial Lure Modules, Mossy Lure Modules, and Magnetic Lure Modules can be obtained in the in-game shop and will be available later this season as rewards for completing new Special Research tasks. These Lure Modules attract local Pokémon as well as bonus Pokémon based on the type of lure.Glacial Lure Modules attract certain Pokémon that love the cold, such as Water- and Ice-Type Pokémon.Mossy Lure Modules attract certain Pokémon that love to frolic among the leaves, such as Bug-, Grass-, and Poison-Type Pokémon.Magnetic Lure Modules attract certain Pokémon that are drawn to electromagnetic forces, such as some Electric-, Steel-, and Rock-type Pokémon. When Trainers are within range of a PokéStop with an active lure of the appropriate type, and they can successfully spin its Photo Disc, Evolution of Magneton and Nosepass will be enabled, as well as certain Evolutions of Eevee. You can choose whether or not to proceed with these special Evolutions on the Pokémon’s detail screen. After running further tests, it looks like these special Lure Modules will enable evolution of Magneton and Nosepass, as well as certain Evolutions of Eevee! In contrast to its regular form, Smoliv's shiny variant swaps the green color of its olive to that of a black olive, which are a type of ripe olive that are commonly found canned or on foods like pizza. This is a fun reference to the fact that there are different kinds of olives while also giving Smoliv a distinct shiny variant that is easily discernable from its regular form. It is interesting to note that both Dolliv and Arboliva share the same black olive color in their shiny variants despite Arboliva having a different olive color from Smoliv and Dolliv in its regular form. Smoliv's body color changes only a little bit in its shiny form compared to its standard form, taking on the greenish-yellow of its olive in that form. Similarly, Dolliv and Arboliva's bodies only change slightly in their shiny variants, simply gaining a darker green compared to their base forms. However, the stark contrast in olive color between regular and shiny variants is enough to make Smoliv and its evolutions stand out among the crowd of shiny critters and is enough that shiny hunters in Pokemon GO will definitely want to add them to their collection. Aside from Smoliv, there are a handful of other mons that will have increased shiny chances during Pokemon GO's Harvest Festival including Bellsprout, Exeggcute, Petilil, and Cottonee. Additionally, the different forms of Burmy will be rewards for Field Research tasks during this event, and each one also has an increased chance to be shiny. Between the introduction of Smoliv and its evolutions along with increased chance to find it and other mons as shiny variants, there are a lot of reasons for players to check out
