Do you have RBG fusion or AORUS engine installed? They cause many issues - remove completely. #4 RGB Fusion can/will cause many issues, but Aura Sync/AI Suite is just as bad (or worse). Installed together they certainly conflict and often compound the problems. In either case you can mitigate them for the most part if you absolutley have to (you’ll need to be strong willed lol).OP- when you say “uninstall” do you mean just the Win add/remove programs? In addtition to that you’ll also need to manually stop and disable the services these tools create (they likely will still be running and active). Depending on your Windows comfort level there would be a variety of ways to to figure out/fix your problem, but my knee jerk reaction based on hour destiption would be to look for a scheduled task for either GB/Aorus or Asus/AI Suite that is set to run hourly and disable it. Or perhaps you’ve installed Afterburner too (or similar) so you’d want to check that as well. Alternativley, either SysInternals Process Explorer (basic) or Windows Performance Recorder (advanced) would show you what is happening during the +/-5 second|hourly event. Much like AV apps and tools, having two (or more) OC or Mobo RGB control tools is one too many and insanley problemtatic unless you have the patience and knowledge to craft and curate a reasonable give/take solution for yourself. #5 I have both RGB Fusion and Aorus engine installed. Now I see... your problem is RGB Fusion (i.e. it’s a mainboard software/utility) and you have an Asus board. For the proper RGB control of both your 2080 and your RAM you need Asus Aura. One of my machines has an Asus Z370-F, GB Xtreme 1080 ti and Trident Z RGB for example and it’s all compatible with Aura Sync. I know it’s probably super confusing because Gigabyte markets it as “RGB Fusion” then also for some dumb reason lists the RGB Fusion “mb_utility_xxx” (i.e. the GB motherboard utility) as a utility along side the “vga__utility_xxx” (i.e. the Aorus OC and RGB control utility), which imho isn’t a great OC tool any way so by using Asus Aura Sync (the correct control in your case) and Afterburner you could avoid the Gigabyte apps all together. Also on a side note, not only is the Gigabyte RGB Fusion mainboard app the wrong one, it also requires Gigabyte App Center to be installed FIRST to even work properly on Gigabyte board (though your can remove App Center after the fact and RGB Fusion will still work as I have a Z270 Aorus G7 and Z390 Aorus Xtreme as well). Soooo.... assuming you do indeed have an Asus board that’s your problem. #7 Asus Aura will control the motherboard and ram just fine, but it won't work with the gpu, neither will Aura RGB lighting control. Everything, but with aura sync installed, I can't control the led's on the gpu. #8 You can control the RGB of any Aorus card with the “Aorus Engine”- it’s download is listed as vga_utility_aorus_setup_v1.5.0.exe in the dowload section utilities for each/all Aorus cards. But since it’s also an OC utility you’ll want to disable it if you use something else for that (like Afterburner) but your last saved/chosen RGB settings will stick (it’s stored in the cards bios iirc). You don’t want the “RGB Fusion” download (mb_utlity_rgb-fusion_B18.1102.1.zip). It’s for RGB Fusion control of Gigabyte motherboards (which inherently includes control of a GB card and rgb ram if supported) and it also requires Gigabyte App Center.
